Entrepreneur Mindset Elements that Few People Will Tell You
I left the kitchen around 5 years ago and at this point I must admit, I am unemployable :).
It wasn’t a plain sailing, I’ve had a lot of ups and downs… though it all started to make sense to me the moment I switched my mindset.
Below, I will share three elements how to have a successful entrepreneur mindset (these exact elements that helped me being unemployable) and honestly I really hope it helps you as it has helped me.
YOU hold the key to your success
You and nobody else are responsible to your success. Yes… It is up to YOU! You will most likely have mentors or coaches, yes, you will most likely have plenty of people that don’t believe in your dreams or tell you that you will never make it but none of that dictates your success. The right entrepreneur mindset is set to take responsibility to say despite my lack of support or abundance of obstacles, I WILL create success. If you use the words “if only” to describe how you COULD have success if only someone would show you how or if only someone would lend you money, then, you are not an entrepreneur. The successful business owners I know had plenty of obstacles and challenges and many had very little support from friends or family members (including myself) in the pursuit of their dreams. Please stop waiting for a handout/wall degree/certificate and take control of your destiny from where you are.
Compare ONLY to the OLD Version of You
Stop comparing yourself to others and celebrate your wins. The reality is there are and will be huge number of people that had faster success than You and me combined… so what? What does that have to do with YOU? It is a marathon race and it is YOUR race not theirs. Instead of constantly noticing how someone got a luckier break than you or how someone made more money faster than you, focus on your progress. That’s what counts… tracking your progress. Celebrate that first sale, first lead, first video, first blog post and then celebrate the next one, the next one, the next one. Comparitis is a killing disease.
Keep Learning… Keep Evolving!
Always be a student and stay humble all the time not some of the time. When I started having success in the catering some years ago I started appreciating my parents values, that to staying humble no matter how high you go. That’s stuck with me! Stay a student. There is always someone out there that has made what you make per year in a day. Learn from others and constantly look to surround yourself with much smarter coaches and mentors who have succeeded at much higher levels than you. Who is mentoring you? Who is coaching you? I need to constantly grow and continue to develop MY entrepreneur mindset because that way you will be able to discover a new level that you’ve never been in.
