#1. Initiative to connect with them

It might be a while or years since you talked with someone but thanks to social media nowadays it is easier and effective to connect with them. So if you search them on popular social media just like facebook you can send them a friend request or send them a fb message using your phone (to make sure they see it).

Here is what you can say…

“Hey John, my goodness is this you. It’s Gordon Attard, we used to go to St. Mary’s College like 10 years ago. How have you been?

I know it has been a long time but I just wanted to re-connect with some old friends and check out what have been up to.

Are you still living in Malta or did you move?”

#2. Remind them how they made you feel

People don’t care how much you know until they know how much you care. This is something you can use as a compliment in itself…

“You know what I remember that you were great in soccer and I could never forget the goal you’ve scored in the final 3 minutes from the final whistle. It was amazing! We celebrated the whole week… Do you remember?”

This will remind them how they made you feel and you’ve given them a genuine compliment that will now be open to see what’s up with you.

#3. Re-connect with them for Updates

When they reply back to you continue to build a quick rapport again with them before you pop the question to meet up.

“Are you still playing football? Look, while you are within distance, let’s meet up for a beer and share some updates. It will be great to catch up with you.”

When you meet with them, do not shove off their face your business opportunity. LISTEN and ask the right questions and see f they are open to the idea on top of what they are doing.

If they have a spouse make an appointment so they see it together preferably.
