I believe branding is an important skill set to acquire for everyone to have especially for network marketers.

Branding allows you to provide value and build relationships that will create a culture and community of people who follow you because you are giving powerful and valuable information that they need to grow their business versus trying to sell them something.

I struggled my first 3 years in network marketing because I was trying to market a product and trying to hard sell my network instead of marketing myself like celebrities do.

I simply went about my business entirely the wrong way because I was not being taught how to build relationships, give value using events/seminars/webinar notes which would lead to interest in my business opportunity and products/service.

2nd Reason – Cos You Have a Very Limited List… Yet!

You see most network marketing companies teach their distributors and representatives how to market products, ask for the sale, ask for a favor, ask for help in hitting that next promotion.

This type of marketing tactic will work for the short term period because most of your hot and warm market will want to help you (mine didn’t) but as you start to work through that network of people and start moving to more “cold market” or new relationships this tactic will be short lived because there is no trust built and as a result they will feel like just another sale.

People will only open their wallets to you because they like you, know you and trust you.

People don’t care how much you know or that you are selling the next greatest weight loss product or make up product unless they know how much you care and that’s by helping them offering great value.

Then that strong connection of trust is built with you and potentially they become your customer or next business partner.

The network marketing business model requires attracting and recruiting others into a team where success depends largely on duplication.

Its crucial to attract like minded people to work with into your business for long term success and that’s using ‘Attraction Marketing’ and that is much easier to do when you are marketing YOU and not your company.

It is making all the difference in the world to my business when I started to realize that I was not just building a business but building a legacy.

Without a personal brand you are branding your company by default. People will see you as a rep for Fancy Pantsie Company.

All of your marketing efforts will drive people to build the email list for your company, not you.

What happens if you are building a team with a pencil company and all of your social media, business cards, marketing materials and relationships are centered around your company and not you and that company closes up shop tomorrow?

You are starting all over when you join a new company and that pretty much sucks.

I wish for you that by understanding the importance of building your brand is higher than you’ve ever thought.
